Context

We, at CAST, have been supported to develop Catalyst, a cross sector partnership community, in order to dramatically increase the digital capabilities of 40,000 charities over the next five years.

Part of this work involves us helping to develop a culture across the community; one that will enable us to work as one team towards the change we want to see in the world. We want to begin that work internally.

All in all, it’s a difficult, fascinating piece of work and we need some help.

Role purpose

The Service and Culture Design Associate has a vital role in supporting the Head of Digital Support and Interaction at CAST to develop a deep understanding of the processes and behaviours that are essential as part of our internal relationships, those between us and our partners and those between digital partners and the charities they support.This role will draw heavily on culture design principles to develop a range of processes and practices that will enable our core values to come to life within our work operationally and programatically.

We are looking for a curious, thoughtful and delivery-driven design ace to join the team, initially on a three-month basis, to support this work from discovery to the delivery of prototyped guidelines that will ensure we develop and maintain positive, equal and productive relationships across all channels of our work.

Specific areas of work

  • Lead on user research planning and delivery as well as synthesis and playback
  • Curate and synthesise key insights from initial desk based research
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and manage interaction mapping exercises
  • Identify behaviours that can manifest our values at every level and across all channels
  • Design, plan, coordinate and manage tests of specific processes to enable certain behaviours
  • Refine processes into a series of prototyped guides for different audiences

Person specification

●      At least five years’ experience in service or culture design in an agile environment relevant to the areas of work above

●      Creative, positive approach to problem-solving

●      Good listening skills, empathy, optimism and resilience.

Comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.
●      Organised, methodical and logical thinker

●      Visual design skills are an advantage

●      Team player and ability to work to tight deadlines

●      A strong commitment to the aims and objectives of CAST
